What is Title I?
Forest Hill Elementary School is identified as a Title I school as a part of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). Title I is designed to support state and local school reform tied to the challenging state academic standards to improve teaching and learning for students.

Title 1 School-Parent Compact
We value your role in working to help your child achieve high academic standards. The following outlines some ways you and Forest Hill Elementary staff can build and maintain a partnership to share the responsibility for supporting your child's learning.
Please review this School-Parent Compact with your child. This School-Parent Compact may be discussed during a parent-teacher conference related to your child's academic progress.
School Responsibility
- Provide high-performing learning environments and learning materials to help children achieve rigorous academic standards
- Provide a safe and supportive learning environment
- Assist in understanding academic achievement standards and assessments and how to monitor your child's progress
- Provide opportunities for ongoing communication between you and teachers through, at a minimum:
- Grade-level curriculum nights
- Bi-annual parent-teacher conferences
- Informational updates posted on class websites/Schoology/SeeSaw/Smore Newsletters and emails
- Maintaining updated grades in Powerschool
- Wednesday folders, including student's progress and community news
- Opportunities to talk to staff, volunteer, and participate in your child's education
Parent Responsibility
- Encourage your child to attend school regularly
- Encourage your child to show positive school behavior
- Review your child's homework
- Discuss with your child the importance of effort in their education
- Volunteer in your child's school or classroom if time or schedule permits
- Attend parent-teacher conferences and participate, when appropriate, in decisions relating to your child's education
