Classroom Guidance

All students at Forest Hill Elementary will come to Guidance every other week on an A/B schedule. Topics that will be covered include respect, responsibility, empathy, problem solving skills, coping skills, friendship skills, and study skills. More information and home links can be found the resources section.

Individual Counseling

Forest Hill Elementary School offers short-term individual personal, social, and academic counseling to students. Parents/guardians or school staff may refer students for counseling, or students may request counseling. It is standard protocol that if a student is in a crisis situation a counseling staff member may offer support without consent but for any type of ongoing support, parental consent must be signed.

Small Group Counseling

Small groups will be formed as needed throughout the school year. Common topics include: family changes, social skills, self-esteem, study skills, organization, and more. Groups will meet once each week for 4-8 weeks. Students may be referred by a parent, teacher, or self-referral. Parent permission must be obtained for group participation.

Flash Cash Blast

We’ve revamped our Flash Cash program this school year! All students will still earn Flash Cash from staff members for being Respectful, Responsible, and Resourceful. Flash Cash Blast will happen once per month in Guidance. It will be students' opportunity to spend their Flash Cash on one of a kind experiences within the school. Flash Cash will not expire until the end of the school year, allowing students to save up for experiences that are meaningful to them!

If you have any questions about the Flash Cash Blast program, please contact your child's School Counselor. For Kindergarten through 2nd grade, contact Sarah Parker. For Preschool and 3rd-5th grade, contact Skylar Workman
