Forest Hill Elementary Celebrates Fall with STEM, Tradition, and Principal's Final Race

Forest Hill Elementary School recently launched a memorable fall season full of engaging activities that combined innovation, learning, and tradition. Third graders took a STEM approach to literature, bringing *The Wild Robot* to life through a hands-on challenge. After reading the book, students designed intricate island mazes, using KaiBot robots to navigate through them, echoing the adventures of Roz, the story’s robotic protagonist.

Meanwhile, fourth graders turned their studies into an outing, gathering at Malco Theaters for a weekend movie premiere, organized by the Forest Hill community. Families met up to enjoy some quality time together, showing just how important these shared experiences are in fostering a close-knit school environment.

In line with long-standing traditions, the school hosted its annual lake race, where students cheered on their favorite racers. This year's event carried a special sentiment, as it marked Principal Zac Percoski’s final race before he passed the leadership baton to incoming Principal Kendra Pickens. Percoski finished in style, claiming victory in his last run.

The weekend culminated with the PTO-sponsored "Foxtail Fling," a celebration of school spirit and community involvement, ensuring that the start of fall was both fun-filled and heartfelt for Forest Hill families.
